has been playing fiddle of one sort or another for more than 40 years. He grew up in the South Bronx listening to Afro-Puerto Rican drumming in the park and Mo-town on AM radio. While residing in South Carolina, he has played at the Picolo Spoletto festival in Charleston, S.C. with the Hats Off String Band as well as losing a fiddle contest to a guitar player, probably due to the judges being too drunk to tell the difference, as was almost everybody else at that venue.
He has since sobered up : ) and now plays classical violin with the Music Institute of Sullivan and Orange Counties, East European, Klezmer and Gypsy fiddle with Szelrozsa and now Madarka, and on the streets in Krakow, Poland with one of the founders of the Illuminati Orchestra and an accordion player who was found wandering bleary-ly around with her dog late one night. He is currently working on finding the intersection set of Eastern European and Southern Appalachian styles.
Harry has played at numerous venues, including the Golden Festival of Balkan Music, Picolo Spoletto, The Falcon, and recently at Gracie Mansion for Mayor Deblasio with his talented daughter and her Latino-Japanese Klezmer group.
